Pre-Tune Checklist

A properly prepared vehicle makes for a safer, faster and more productive tuning session. Work through the checklist below before beginning remote tuning or arriving for your dyno appointment.

REMOTE TUNING

Remote Session Setup

Laptop is ready Your laptop is charged, functioning correctly and available for flashing and datalogging. Required tuning software is installed Install and verify the required flashing and logging software before beginning the tuning process. Tuning interface and cables are working Confirm your FlashPro, KTuner, HP Tuners interface, Tactrix or other required hardware communicates with the vehicle properly. Datalogging has been verified Make sure you understand how to start, stop and save a datalog using your tuning platform. Battery support is available when needed A suitable battery charger or power supply is recommended during lengthy flashing procedures or when battery reserve is a concern. A safe and appropriate logging location is available Logs must be collected safely and legally. A chassis dyno is preferred when requested testing cannot be performed safely in your available environment. I will not operate a laptop while driving Set up datalogging before moving or have a passenger operate the computer when interaction is required.

DYNO TUNING

Dyno Session Readiness

Tires are safe and in good condition Tires should have no exposed cords, major cracking, sidewall damage or other obvious safety concerns. Tire pressures have been checked Arrive with reasonable and consistent tire pressures. Wheels and lug hardware are secure Lug nuts or bolts should be properly installed and torqued before the vehicle is placed on the dyno. Clutch and drivetrain are functioning normally There should be no known clutch slip, transmission problems, axle issues or abnormal drivetrain noises. Loose items have been removed or secured Remove unnecessary loose items from the cabin, trunk and cargo areas before the dyno session. Wheel-lock key is available if applicable Bring any wheel-lock key or specialty hardware required to remove or access the wheels. Required tuning hardware and access are ready Bring any required interface, login credentials, license or hardware necessary to flash or communicate with the vehicle. LRW has been told about anything unusual Notify us ahead of time about very low ride height, unusual drivetrain configurations or anything else that could affect dyno setup or vehicle operation.

Calibration services do not include diagnosis of mechanical, electrical, installation, ignition, fuel-system or other vehicle-related faults.

If diagnostic work is required before or during the tuning process, diagnostic labor is billed at $125/hour, whether performed remotely or in person.
