THE STORY
Why This Build Exists
This FK8 was built around one goal: creating a fast, capable car for time attack on high-speed courses while still being something I can take into the mountains and enjoy on a back road.
The focus was never just making a big dyno number. The engine, cylinder head, turbo system, fueling, chassis, bushings, suspension and tire setup were all chosen to make the car responsive, predictable and able to handle sustained high-load driving. The PSR 5855G was selected to give the car strong response and a wide usable powerband without sacrificing the top-end power needed on faster tracks.
A lot of attention has also gone into the chassis. Subframe collars, upgraded bushings, Swift springs and 265-width Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2s help make the most of the FK8 platform while keeping the car enjoyable outside of a track environment.
The end result is an FK8 built to do more than make power — it's meant to carry speed, put power down, survive repeated hard use and still be the kind of car I want to take out for a mountain drive. Everything on the car has been developed, tested and calibrated with that purpose in mind.
SETUP
Modifications
Engine / Head: Built K20C1 short block, 4 Piston Racing ported cylinder head, TR2.5 cams, Kelford valve springs and titanium retainers, Ferrea valves, pinned cam gears, 4P oil baffle. FX400SS clutch kit with light weight flywheel and Perrin crank pulley.
Turbo: Rampage Fabrication turbo kit, PSR 5855G with .91 A/R turbine housing, Full-Race wastegate bracket.
Intake: Rampage Fabrications Aluminum Inlet pipe, PRL intake with Race MAF housing, ported intake manifold, Skunk2 72mm throttle body.
Fuel System: XDI HPFP, XDI 2000cc injectors, ported high-pressure fuel line, Walbro 535 in-tank pump, -6AN PTFE fuel line from tank to HPFP, PRL flex-fuel kit.
Crankcase: Level7 QuikVent with custom catch-can system and separate breather on the valve cover.
Management: Hondata FlashPro, custom LRW Tuned calibration, flex fuel, MAFless.
Interior / Controls: BLOX CAE-style shifter, Spoon steering wheel, Works Bell hub, SRD kit.
Suspension / Chassis: Swift lowering springs, PRL solid front and rear subframe collars, Powerflex Black Series wishbone bushings, RV6 compliance bushings. Ballade 2 piece 350MM Rotors front and back with Project Mu pads.
Wheels / Tires: Kansei Astro wheels with 265/35R18 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.
