Unlock the potential of your 2002–2005 Subaru WRX with an LRW staged calibration using EcuFlash open-source tuning software. Each calibration is developed around your vehicle's specific modifications and fuel type, with adjustments to fueling, ignition timing, boost control, and overall engine performance.

Whether you're looking to improve your stock WRX or upgrade to a larger turbocharger, our staged calibrations are designed to deliver responsive power and consistent drivability.

All calibrations require a compatible Tactrix OpenPort interface and EcuFlash software for remote flashing. RomRaider or another compatible datalogging solution is also required.

Two tuning revisions are included with each stage.

Stage 1 – Stock Turbo / Stock Hardware

Mod Requirements:

  • Completely stock vehicles are acceptable.
  • Factory TD04 turbocharger.
  • Factory intake and fuel system.
  • Cat-back exhaust is acceptable.
  • 91 or 93 octane fuel.

Designed for otherwise stock WRXs looking to improve throttle response, boost delivery, and overall engine performance without extensive hardware modifications.

Stage 2 – Full Bolt-On Calibration

Mod Requirements:

  • Factory TD04 turbocharger.
  • Performance intake (please specify manufacturer and model).
  • Upgraded intercooler recommended.
  • Upgraded exhaust system.
  • Compatible 3-port electronic boost control solenoid is acceptable.
  • Fuel system upgrades as required by the combination.
  • 91 or 93 octane fuel.

Stage 2 is intended for full bolt-on WRXs retaining the factory turbocharger. Calibration adjustments are made to accommodate increased airflow, boost control changes, and the vehicle's specific modifications.

Customers must provide the exact intake and boost control solenoid configurations before tuning begins.

Stage 3 – Upgraded Turbo Calibration

Mod Requirements:

  • Compatible upgraded turbocharger, including 18G, 20G, or supported STI VF-series turbochargers.
  • Performance intake.
  • Upgraded intercooler.
  • Upgraded exhaust system.
  • Properly sized aftermarket fuel injectors.
  • Upgraded fuel pump capable of supporting the intended power output.
  • Compatible electronic boost control system.
  • 91 or 93 octane fuel.

Stage 3 is intended for WRXs equipped with upgraded turbochargers and the necessary supporting modifications.

Fuel Injector Requirements:

Genuine STI Pink 565cc injectors may be suitable for certain VF-series turbo configurations. Larger 18G and 20G setups will generally require additional injector capacity based on the intended power output and fuel type.

Customers must provide the manufacturer, part number, flow specifications, and applicable calibration data for their injectors.

We do not calibrate unverified or no-name fuel injectors.

Required Information Before Tuning

Customers must provide:

  • Year, make, and model.
  • Complete modification list.
  • Turbocharger manufacturer and model.
  • Fuel type and octane rating.
  • Injector manufacturer, model, and flow specifications.
  • Fuel pump specifications.
  • Intake and MAF housing specifications.
  • Boost control solenoid configuration.
  • Current ECU ROM file.

Any nonstandard MAF or MAP sensor configuration must be disclosed before purchase. Manufacturer calibration data may be required.

Remote Tuning Requirements

All remote calibrations require a compatible Tactrix OpenPort interface, EcuFlash, and the ability to datalog the vehicle.

Customers must submit their original ECU ROM file and order number to Michael.Leto@lrwtuned.com after purchase.

Two revisions are included with each staged calibration. Additional revisions, hardware changes, or diagnostic work may require additional charges.

Important: These calibrations are developed for the specified hardware combination. Vehicles must be mechanically sound and free of boost leaks, fueling issues, misfires, and existing mechanical problems before tuning begins.

Additional configurations, larger turbocharger applications outside the supported stage, alternative fuels, or extensively modified engines may require a separate custom tuning service.

Please review our Pre-Tune Checklist before beginning your tuning session.
